“We are very grateful for another communication award for the This Truly Matters campaign, for this recognition which confirms that fighting social inequalities in our country is highly valued beyond its borders. Thank you to our friends from Brački pupoljci, Parents’ Association of Children with Disabilities who asked us to be a part of this wonderful story. Together we have achieved the impossible. Fighting for one of the most vulnerable groups in our society, we have amended the law and corrected the great injustice they have suffered for years. We have also shown that public relations can be directed towards fulfilling noble goals and improving the lives of people in need from our community”, said the CEO of CTA komunikacije Gordan Turković in his thank you speech during last night’s online award ceremony Eventiada IPRA GWA. This is already the fifth award for this campaign in a series of domestic and world awards.

This Truly Matters achieved its great victory in November 2019 by amending the Law on Liner Shipping and Seasonal Coastal Maritime Transport, which finally enabled free ferry transport for children with disabilities from all Croatian islands to much-needed onshore therapy. They won the Eventiada Award in the category of the best non-profit and socially responsible campaigns in competition from Eastern European countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Central Asia.

Due to a great social impact of the campaign and excellence in its realization, the team of Brački pupoljci and CTA komunikacije won the Croatian award for public relations, Grand PRix of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) in May this year. It also won three major international awards. In July, they were awarded the most prestigious world PR award Golden World Awards for Excellence of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and less than a week ago as many as two prestigious European Excellence Awards with a victory in the category of NGOs and organizations and a special jury award for the best campaign in Europe among 350 finalists in 60 categories.

Mate Mladina, Gina Victoria Damjanović, Gordan Turković, Petar Tanta, Valentina Mezdić and Eli Čerkezović worked alongside the parents from the Association at the awarded campaign with a 0 HRK budget. Apart from children with disabilities from all Croatian islands, other years-neglected vulnerable groups were granted the right to legally prescribed free transport.
