The third evening of the 16th “Pričigin” storytelling festival in Split hit the mark, gathering over 400 people at the amphitheater of the Youth Center. We believe everyone present enjoyed listening to our very own Gordan Turković, who – alongside Željko Erceg, Krešimir Macan, Ankica Mamić, and Jerko Trogrlić – shared some fascinating PR stories during the panel “How to Sell White Kidneys.” The moderator, Jasen Boko, skillfully led the program, and the entire evening was a delightful and educational experience for all in attendance.
Reflecting on his 12-13 years in the business, Gordan realized he had sold white kidneys better than anyone else. Although it wasn’t his original plan nor something he studied at university, he understood that his upbringing, the people he met, and his environment all guided him toward a career in communications. To illustrate his point, he shared several stories about how his family influenced where he is today.
The first story involves his father, the best spin doctor he’s ever met, who preached about healthy eating while drinking coffee with the biggest donut in his mouth. When he confronted his father and his unhealthy eating habits, he got the answer: “But that’s why I put Natren in the coffee.” This was a perfect example of a shift in perception—a different view of the same truth that many consider the foundation of public relations.
U svojih 10 minuta nastupa, u kojem nema čitanja ni šalabahtera, ispričao je i priču o svojoj pokojnoj baki koja je usavršila prodaju domaćih proizvoda turistima koji su odsjeli u njenim apartmanima. Dotaknuo se važnosti asertivne komunikacije u kući, kao i upornosti i osjećaja nesigurnosti na početku karijere.
