Digital strategies have become a vital tool for shaping public opinion, mobilizing voters, and building political narratives. The ability to reach millions of people in real time with personalized messages has redefined how politicians communicate with the public,” emphasized Gordan Turković during the panel discussion “Digital Marketing in Politics: Innovation and Strategy” at the KOMferencija in Split.
Gordan moderated the panel, joined by Luka Kerečin from the Možemo! party, Ivan Jozić from SDP, and Marijan Palić from Atomski Marketing. The panelists discussed the development of digital campaigns in Croatia, innovations such as AI commentators, the biggest challenges for political candidates in the digital space, and ethical questions related to voter privacy.
Luka Kerečin highlighted how the Možemo! party has transformed its approach to digital strategy, leveraging tools to stay on top of trends while delivering key messages that resonate with audiences. He also pointed out that each candidate’s uniqueness shapes tailored content strategies.
Ivan Jozić spoke about their challenges when adapting their strategy after Zoran Milanović entered the parliamentary campaign. He also touched on strategies to engage younger audiences through digital content while adapting to changes in social media algorithms.
On the other hand, Marijan Palić focused on progress in data collection and data analysis in Croatian political campaigns. He emphasized ethical concerns regarding the collection of users’ private data and questioned where to draw the line between personalization and privacy.
The engaging discussion provided the audience with insights into the key challenges and innovations in digital campaigns. It stressed the importance of personalized messaging and adapting to new technologies. The panelists unanimously agreed that advanced data analytics will shape the future of political marketing.
