It has been a little over a year since ChatGPT saw the light of day, but it still holds a leading position in the world of generative AI.
In light of this dominance, we decided to check out GPT Plus to better understand its potential and see if it really is as impressive as it seems. So, let’s get started!
How much for a pound of GPT?
The current price of the Plus version is $20 per month, and there is also a Team version that is $5 more expensive. The main advantage of the Team version is that it excludes all your data and archived conversations from the database used to learn ChatGPT, unlike the Plus version, which does not.

The GPT-4 model is simply smarter
The main reason why ChatGPT users choose to subscribe is access to the GPT-4 model. Improvements to this model are focused on a better understanding of complex queries and the ability to generate more precise, relevant, and contextually appropriate responses.
These are just some of the reasons why GPT4 is better than its predecessor:
- It has a higher number of parameters compared to GPT-3.5, which allows it to generate more complex texts in a better way.
- It is much better at remembering context.
- It shows greater abilities to understand and generate text in multiple languages, including Croatian.
- The generation of incorrect information is reduced. The model has been trained to back up the information with sources if possible.
- Better understands specific user requirements and different writing styles. He can even be taught to write like you!
In addition, significant steps have been made in reducing the tendency of models to generate biased or offensive content.
ChatGPT has browsing enabled
The most interesting novelty is definitely the ability to browse the Internet in real time, which allows you to provide more up-to-date data. If you want to get the most up-to-date information, you should tell him that you want it to ‘investigate’ your query or ‘find’ the answer you are looking for.
If you forget to ask him to ‘research’, there is a risk of generating answers based on its database, which is limited until April 2023. In addition, the information is now more relevant, and it is easier to verify its accuracy because ChatGPT can, at your request, provide sources that will be marked with blue quotes in the response.

ChatGPT, New artist in the neighbourhood?
With the integration of DALL·E image generation model, our super smart robot also got a new artistic side. If you are subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, you can now play around with creating visual content that, with minimal tweaking, can be used for commercial purposes.
Imagine you are working on a project and need a 2D black and white comic-style illustration of a screw. In such situations, DALL·E proves to be extremely useful.

However, when it comes to generating realistic images, ChatGPT has not proven to be the most reliable tool. Most such images have a specific appearance that clearly suggests that they were created by artificial intelligence. Therefore, for this type of content, we recommend using AI tools specialized for this purpose, such as Stable Diffusion. In addition to providing better results, it is also free!
Less trouble with analysing long documents
ChatGPT, in addition to drawing, now also possesses the ability to read, interpret visual content, and even simulate speech.
All of these capabilities are particularly evident with the new Content Upload feature, which allows users to ask questions about the content within the uploaded files, making it easier to view and analyse large documents, up to an impressive 900 pages. This feature can be extremely useful when analysing large databases due to its fairly fast data processing.
However, it is not limited to text documents. ChatGPT is also capable of analysing images and providing helpful advice based on visual information. For example, it can suggest what to prepare for lunch based on the ingredients shown in a photo.

It is important to be aware of the security aspects when using ChatGPT’s new functions for document analysis. While the ability to upload and analyse long text documents and images has been added, users should be careful with confidential information.
If you do not tell ChatGPT to ‘forget’ uploaded files, they could be stored in its database. Therefore, it is not recommended to upload files that contain sensitive information.

ChatGPT has spoken out
If you are using the ChatGPT app on Android or iOS, you may have noticed the headphone icon located to the right of the text input area. Clicking on it opens a new interface, signaling the start of a voice conversation, much like with Siri and Bixby.
This functionality allows users a better control with the help of voice commands and prompts, which further enhances the experience of using the app by allowing for a more natural and intuitive way to communicate. Recently, this feature has also arrived on the free version of ChatGPT, but users are still limited to the GPT 3.5 model, which has a longer request processing time, which can disrupt the illusion of conversation.

ChatGPT has recently expanded its speaking capabilities by introducing the option to read generated text. We were surprised by how good it actually sounds, even when it comes to languages like Croatian. The only downside we noticed is the slight English accent on some words, but it is still far better than other text-to-speech apps that often produce monotonous or robotic results.
To demonstrate this feature, ChatGPT has prepared a special bedtime story for you, in which the main role is played by a mischievous employee of the digital marketing department.
A whole army of GPT’s
At the end of last year, OpenAI introduced an innovative approach to creating specialized versions of ChatGPT-4, called GPTs. These are task-specific versions of ChatGPT, offering a wide range of applications.
Here we can find a variety of applications, from artists who create colouring books based on a story, botanists specializing in caring for plants, to “experts” whose sole purpose is to analyse data and display it visually.

Various businesses, including Canva and Consensus, have developed their official versions of GPT. In order to check the functionality of Canva’s bot and determine whether it serves only as a channel for the promotion of this platform or provides usable results, we gave it the task of creating a poster for the sale of lawn mowers.
The results were, to put it mildly, disappointing, which could explain its average score of 3.2.

Build-a-Bot
In addition to the already existing GPTs, the option of building your own chatbot is also available!
If you have an idea of what exactly your personal virtual assistant should do, it is not difficult to configure it. In fact, all you need is a description of the work they will perform and the instructions they will work according to.

Is it worth subscribing to ChatGPT Plus, now that it is not just a chatbot?
In the past two months of testing the Plus version of ChatGPT, it has proven to be quite profitable, mainly due to the ability to surf the Internet and provide references.
These two options can be practical when we face challenges on a project and we need inspiration for further work. Also, sometimes it is useful that it provides relevant links that can create a fresh perspective on the topic and thus spark creativity.
Its answers can still be a bit generic, which is perfectly fine because ChatGPT is not used for creating the content itself, but for research and brainstorming.
So far, we have not benefited from other upgrades (except for fun), but we see potential value for other professions. For example, it can be used by graphic designers to help visualise the project before starting to develop their own design, and to data analysts and scientists in a quick analysis of files.
While the Premium version is useful to us, it may not offer enough value for everyone, especially if the free version meets your needs. Therefore, it is important to consider the ways you plan to use ChatGPT before making a subscription decision.
