The campaign called 1,100 km for 1,100 therapies, conducted last year by the CTA komunikacije team and the mountaineers from the island of Brač, Ranko Dragičević and Daniel Lončar won the Gold Grand PRix of the Croatian Public Relation Association (HUOJ).
We have won the award in the category of public relations in institutions, associations and NGOs. This has been the third Grand Prix in our three and a half years of our agency’s existence, which means that our profession recognises the importance and quality of our campaigns, usually guided by social responsibility.
The charity campaign 1,100 kilometres for 1,100 therapies took place from March to May 2021, and the Brač mountaineers Ranko Dragičević and Danijel Lončar passed the most demanding Croatian mountain route called Via Adriatica in 49 days of back-to-back hiking. The goal was to gather at least HRK 110,000.00, so that the Brač children with disabilities, gathered in Parents Association of Children with Disabilities called Brački pupoljci could receive their indispensable therapies during the pandemic year. In less than three months the fundraising campaign gathered over HRK 170,000.00.
At the campaign 1,100 kilometres for 1,100 therapies, conducted with a budget of HRK 0,00 Ranko Dragičević and Daniel Lončar joined forces with Dijana Šabić of Poduzetnički centar Aktiva and the CTA komunikacije team; Valentina Mezdić, Hana Kajari, Gordan Turković and Petar Tanta.
“As PR experts we have the knowledge, media access and possibility to put socially significant topics into focus. It is our responsibility to move away from corporate projects and large budgets at least for a short while, and to direct our knowledge to those do not get the visibility they deserve. We have the power to change things, and it is up to us to use this power to do good. We wish to thank Ranko and Daniel, the brave parents from Brački pupoljci association and the wonderful CTA komunikacije team who put their heart into projects like these”, said Valentina Mezdić, junior communication consultant while accepting the award.
Grand Prix is a recognition for public relations experts, as well as a motivation for applying additional efforts, innovation and presentation of the public relations profession and the importance of communication in public. The additional value of the award is the education and training that arises from the exchange of experience and knowledge through the presentation of communication projects. The 1,100 kilometres campaign for 1,100 therapies made the finals with the Turizam pomaže Baniji/Tourism Helps Banija project by the 404 Agency for the Croatian Tourism Association and the interactive exhibition DiJAbetes pod kontrolom/ Diabetes under control by the Manjgura agency for the Zagreb Diabetes Society.
